Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus-Philippians 2:3-8
I have too often witnessed the emotional and physical result of inaccurate medical information or care given to patients. I decided to see if I could play a role in helping to change that, by sharing what I have learned in 34 years working within the medical community.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to spend a few minutes with me. It is my hope that you will have thought your time well spent. There are many reasons which led to the onset of this new endeavor, though honestly, I was not in need of, or looking for one.
After publishing my first book in April 2020, “Only the Lucky Grow Old”, I guess I can now call myself an author, however it has been my experiences as a physical therapist that I am most passionate about. My profession has brought forth any emotion you can think of, and it's those emotions which are the driving force behind the initiation of this website.
Why I have started this and what is my purpose? In essence, it's to educate. I say this based on the multitude of patients I have worked with over the years. It has been obvious to me that people have often been misguided, misinformed, or uninformed when it comes to options concerning their medical issues and concerns. This makes me both mad and sad.
The longer I work in this field, the more I realize what a specialized, unique role physical therapists play within the medical community. I seek to promote the wide variety of services and specialties within the physical therapy field that many may not be aware of.
My heart is also strongly tethered to increasing respect and advocacy for our elderly population.
This will be a learning experience for me, and I welcome any questions, feedback, or advice you may have.
I honestly have no idea how this will go. Am I fearful of failure? I used to be. Do I care what people will think? I used to. If we don’t walk, we will never run, and if we don’t spread our wings we will never learn to fly. God led me to this, and I believe in it. If only one person is helped, I would consider my time well spent.
And so this blog begins. I thank you for your interest and time in reading.
May God Bless you and be with you always.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
I will get back in touch with you as soon as I am able to.
